Last Tuesday night RBSHS hosted Celina and handed their district opponent a 74 - 62 loss. Then Friday night, saw the Bulldogs climb aboard a bus and travel to Pickett County where the Bulldogs defeated Pickett County for the first time in 15 years in Pickett County by a final of 68 - 57.
The RBSHS Bulldogs record now stands at 5 - 1 overall and 2-0 in district action.
On Tuesday night, RBSHS hosted the Celina Bulldogs. RBSHS defeated Celina by a final of 74-62
Meador managed a double - double on the night, scoring in double digits with 22 points and pulling down double digit rebounds with 14.
Also scoring double digits for RBSHS were Mark McClure with 17, Randy Rice with 16, and Marcus Hudson with 10.
Other Bulldogs tossing in points included Joe England with 5, Kevin Sullivan with 2, and Jay Mason with 2.
In addition to Meador, Randy Rice pulled down 7 rebounds and Marcus Hudson grabbed 6.
Daniel Meador and Marcus Hudson each had 4 assists to their credit and Randy Rice managed 3.
Meador also led the team in steals, taking the ball away from Celina 5 times during the game. Marcus Hudson was credited with 2 steals in the game.
Friday night sent the RBSHS Bulldogs to Pickett County. The Bulldogs were going into a tough situation facing a team they had not beaten on the road in 15 years and they were facing a former Bulldog Head Coach - Brent Smith.
The Bulldogs just seemed to think of this as more of a reason to win the game.
Daniel Meador again managed a double - double, scoring in double digits with 19 points and grabbing double digit rebounds with 11.
Also scoring in the game were Marcus Hudson with 18, Joe England with 9, Kevin Sullivan with 7, Randy Rice with 7, Mark McClure with 6, and Jay Mason with 2.
In addition to Meador and his 11 rebounds, Randy Rice and Marcus Hudson each grabbed 7 rebounds in the game.
Credited with 2 assists each were Daniel Meador, Jay Mason and Joe England.
Four Bulldogs put the pressure on the Pickett County team, taking the ball away 2 times each - Randy Rice, Daniel Meador, Marcus Hudson, and Joe England.
Up next for the RBSHS Bulldogs is a Dec. 10 road game in Gordonsville. On Friday night, December 13, RBSHS will host Westmoreland.
Next Wednesday, December 18, RBSHS will host the 36th Annual Red Boiling Springs Christmas Tournament. Games will continue throughout the week, with finals scheduled for Saturday.
