Ms. Anna Dean Carter will attend the 2003 Ms. Tennessee Senior Age of Elegance Pageant Saturday, March 1.

Ms. Carter, currently serving as the commissioner for the 14th district, placed 1st runner up in the Ms. Senior Macon County Fair Beauty contest held last August. The first place winner declined to attend the state competition.

The pageant will be held at the Palace Theater in Crossville, Tennessee.

Several family members as well as friends will be traveling the miles to cheer on her smiling face.

It has been several years since the county has had a representative at the Ms. Senior pageant.

Ms. Carter has decided on a purple evening gown for the event and has also practiced a motivational speech entitled Pathway of Life for the talent part of the competition.

Each contest must also work on a dance routine to be performed together.

Ms. Carter said about the trip, "I am very excited about going. I'm a great one for trying anything once. I plan on having a good time and to make the most out of my trip."

Senior Center Director Lori Wright, said, "I am very very thrilled that Anna Dean will be in the pageant. It has been a number of years since we've had someone from Macon County represent us."

As well as serving as a county commissioner, Ms. Carter is also involved with the Macon County Education Foundation, Health Council, Lions Club, and the Fair Board.

Macon County is very proud of her and supports her 100%.
