Larry Gene Meador, 50, of Pensacola, Florida, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at his residence.

He was born in Rowletts, Kentucky on Sept. 23, 1952, and was a son of the late William Truman Meador and Bessie McCawley Meador. He was a Navy Counselor Senior Chief and was with the United States Navy for 26 years. He was a Little League baseball, football and basketball coach, a member and past president of the Madison Regatta and attended the Cross Roads Baptist Church in Pensacola. He was a member of the Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Macon County, TN.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca D. Meador; a daughter, Joanna Wickersham, Baton Rouge, LA; two sons, Larry Gene Meador, Jr. and William Travis Meador, both of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren; three brothers, Henry Meador and Robert Meador, both of Munfordville, KY and Marty Meador, Cave City, KY; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Hawkins, Munfordville, KY, Ruby Ann Meredith and Connie Meador, both of Rowletts, KY.

Funeral services for Larry Gene Meador were conducted Wednesday, May 7, 2003, 1:00 p.m. at Sego Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY with burial in Munfordville Municipal Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Navy.
