With the threat of bank robberies on the minds of everyone and the terrorist alert at Level Orange local law enforcement placed officers at all banks in Macon County Wednesday, December 24, and Friday, December 26.
According to Police Chief Jerry Dallas, this was to ease the minds of all involved over the Christmas holiday. Customers should feel no cause for alarm and business is as usual at all banks.
Extra surveillance and security measures were in effect last week and this week and will continue through the new year due to the high alert status. Macon County Sheriff's Department and Red Boiling Springs Police reported no suspicious activity over the holiday.
