Benny Jones, 71, of Lafayette, TN , passed away Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. The Monroe County, Kentucky native was born Thursday, April 20, 1933, a son of the late Gaither Jones and Bessie Jenkins Jones. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Landmark Baptist Church, a retired truck driver, mechanic, and farmer. He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Jean Law Jones and Juanita Gregory Jones.

He is survived by 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Thelma Lou Dawes; Lora and Glen Pedigo; Cindi and Timmy Jones, all of Lafayette, TN; a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Joan Jones, Murfreesboro, TN; a step-daughter, Rhonda Givens, Lafayette, TN; a sister, Jewell Minix, Scottsville, KY; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wives and parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Jones, and 2 sisters, Sally Jones and Judy Fisher.

Funeral services for Benny Jones were conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Bro. David Eubank and Rev. Kenneth Fisher officiating. Burial was in Underwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Jackie Porter, Mark Roberts, Kenneth Jones, Freddie Minix, Bennie Minix, and Tommy Minix. Honorary pallbearers were Lee "Alf" Givens, Damien Givens, Phillip, Joey, Nathan, Jon, Kelvin, Robbie, Ricky, Jeff, and David Gregory, and Donnie Morgan.

Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN was in charge of arrangements.
