Funeral services for Lovena Babbitt Copas, age 88, of Hermitage Springs Community in Clay County, were conducted Friday, March 25, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Phillip Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Red Boiling Springs with Dewayne Fox officiating. Pallbearers were Parrish Wright, Shannon Wright, Sgt. Jubal Shane Wright, Tracy Bartley, Terry Copas, Chris Copas and Jason Copas. Interment followed in Hermitage Springs Cemetery.

Lovena Copas passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette.

A native of Ohio County, KY, she was the daughter of the late John William and Elmina Wells Babbitt. She married Everett Guy Copas on August 1, 1936, who preceded her in death on August 18, 1992. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Wright.

Survivors include daughters, Reba Copas, Shirley (Ray) West, Thelma Bartley, all of the Hermitage Springs Community; sons, Ronald Copas, Mt. Juliet, TN, Donald (Roberta) Copas, Tony Copas and son-in-law, Garth Wright, all of Hermitage Springs; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
