Jesse William Sanders, 72, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2005 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Sunday, October 9, 1932, a son of the late Genie Theodore (Ted) Sanders and Dorothy Gertrude Gulley Sanders. He was an Army Veteran and a retired carpenter for Mueller Refrigeration. On December 20, 1958, he was united in marriage to Lassie Krantz Sanders.

He is survived by his wife Lassie Krantz Sanders, of Lafayette, TN; 4 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Mary Ann and David Ashmore, Cullowhee, North Carolina; Teresa Jane Smart, Indianapolis, Indiana; Melissa Diane and Mickey Gregory, Franklin, Kentucky; Cynthia Oneta Bowman, Lafayette, TN; a son, Jesse Sanders, Jr., Gainesboro, TN; 3 brothers, J. R. Sanders, Hartsville, TN; Dale Sanders, Nashville, TN; and Sammy Sanders, Adolphus, KY; a sister, Marie Martin, Nashville, TN; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant brother, G. L. Sanders and a sister, Mary Agnes Draper.

Funeral services for Jesse William Sanders were conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Ricky Holland officiating. Burial was in Anderson Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Mike East, Steve Steenbergen, Eric Krantz, Michael Gregory, Gary Hawkins, and Gary Bowman.
