Mr. Jerry Lee "Peanut" Lancaster, age 38, of Carthage, was pronounced dead on arrival at Carthage General Hospital Saturday morning, July 30, 2005 of injuries received in an auto accident on Defeated Creek Hwy.

Funeral services were conducted from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon with Elder James Thomas Gibbs and Elder Charles Allen Gentry officiating. Following the 3 p.m. services, burial was in the family plot at Sanderson Cemetery in Pleasant Shade.

Born August 13, 1966 in Lebanon, he was the son of James Leslie Lancaster of Carthage and Sina Ann Smith Lancaster of Lebanon. He attended Smith County High School and was in the Class of 1986. He was of Missionary Baptist faith. He was employed an an installer of automatic car washes. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Indian Creek Archery Club.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two daughters, Tiffany and Millie Lancaster, both of Carthage; brother, James S. "Cowboy" Lancaster of Carthage.
