Jesse D. Wilburn, 89, of Lafayette, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at The Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee. The Macon County, Tennessee native was born Thursday, October 21, 1915, a son of the late Herbert Wilburn and Della Leath Wilburn. He was a member of Old Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist Church since 1933, a member of Hillsdale Lodge #664 F. & A.M. for over 61 years, a former county employee, a retired employee of the City of Lafayette, and a retired farmer. On January 18, 1936 he was united in marriage to Ovie Gregory Wilburn.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Ovie Gregory Wilburn; one daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Junior Polston; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Everette and Pat Wilburn; Dean and Carolyn Wilburn, all of Lafayette, TN; 2 granddaughters and their husbands, Evette and Jeff Morgan; Frankie and Ricky Law; a grandson, Joey Alan Wilburn; three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Pearl Tuck, a daughter-in-law, Martha Wilburn, a son-in-law, Frank Stafford, and a grandson, Roger Stafford.

Funeral services for Jesse D. Wilburn were conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Eld. Terry Austin officiating. Burial was in Anderson Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Jason Law, Brian Law, Joey Wilburn, Jeff Morgan, Ricky Law, Herbert Tuck, and Chris Tuck. Hillsdale Lodge #664 F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic Services at 7:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Alexander-Goad Funeral Home in Lafayette, Tennessee was in charge of arrangements.
