Funeral services for Velma King Keen, age 85, of the Rocky Mound Community were conducted Friday, October 21, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. from the Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Hilman Duncan officiating. Pallbearers were Harold King, Jeff Likens, Charles Wilkerson, Kenneth Meador, Charles Hale, and Ira Meador, Jr. Interment followed in the Rocky Mound Cemetery.

Velma Keen passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Macon County General Hospital.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late John & Etter Howser King. She married Ardie Wilson Keen in 1935 who preceded her in death in 2004. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Curtis. Velma was a homemaker and a member of the Rocky Mound Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Stanley & Dorothy Keen, of West Virginia; sister Rulene Knight of Franklin, KY; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
