Board of Education to have work session Mar. 16

The Macon County Board of Education will meet in special session March 16, at 5:30 p.m. at the Central Office.

Parks and Recreation to have clean-up day

The Parks and Recreation Association will hold a clean-up day Saturday, Mar. 18, at 8 a.m., on the two softball fields located behind Central Elementary School in preparation for the 2006 season of girls' softball. Volunteers who wish to participate are welcome. Please bring yard tools and large size garbage bags to the event.

Laf. Beer Board to meet Mar. 21

The Lafayette Beer Board will meet Mar. 21, at 6 p.m. at city hall to review new owner application for a beer permit at 200A Hwy 52 Bypass.

Macon County Planning Comm. to meet Mar. 21

The Macon County Planning Commission will meet on Tuesday, Mar. 21, at 6 p.m. in the courtroom in Lafayette.

Macon Co. Health Council to meet March 21

The Macon County Health Council will meet Mar. 21, at 12 p.m. at the EMS building in Lafayette.

National Poison Prevention Week Mar. 19-25

Macon County General Hospital will host a Poison Prevention Program Thursday, March 23, at 5 p.m. Lynne Knight, Extension Agent, will provide information about poisons and poison prevention. This will be held at the Diabetes Center at 420 College Street in Lafayette. For more information call 666-7186 or 666-7126.

Laf. Elem. PTO selling video scrapbooks on DVD

The Lafayette Elementary PTO is now selling video scrapbooks on DVD. If you are interested, please contact your child's teacher. The cost is $15. No extras will be made. The last day to order will be Mar. 24.

10th annual Lioness Lions Variety Show Mar. 25

The 10th annual Lioness Lions Variety Show will be held Saturday, night Mar. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the MCJHS auditorium. Doors open at 5 p.m., tickets $6 each or advance tickets $6 each, Citizens Bank on Scottsville Rd. and Justice Center on Bypass or call Gwen at 666-2000 or 666-3350.

Maggie Wooten benefit Prom Show canceled

Due to scheduling conflicts, the benefit Prom Show for Maggie Wooten has been canceled. Anyone wishing to donate to Maggie Wooten and family may do so at Cumberland Bank, Macon Bank or Citizens Bank.
