L.E. “Buck” Carter, age 83, of Lafayette passed away on Monday, May 1, 2006 at Macon County General Hospital. Funeral services for L.E. “Buck” Carter were conducted on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Alexander-Goad Funeral Home with Elder Anthony Hale officiating. Kermit Cothron, Joe Holland, Carthell Driver, Olie Harper, John Carter Holland and Cillous Law served as Honorary Pallbearers. Allen Derriso, Daniel Joines, Bryan Driver, Dewayne Driver, Fred Cartwright and Joshua Derriso served as Active Pallbearers. Interment followed in the Haysville Cemetery.

L.E. “Buck” Carter was born August 18, 1922 in Macon County, TN, the son of the late Jimmy G. Carter and Emma Woods Carter. Besides his parents, a brother, Johnson G. Carter, sisters, Judy Carter and Irene Driver preceded him in death. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and retired from South Central Bell.

He is survived by daughters, Belinda (Doyce) Derriso of Glenwood, GA, Sybil (Ricky) Joines, Lafayette, TN; grandchildren, Joshua & Allen Derriso, Daniel & Sarah Joines; and great-grandchildren, Jaden & Chase Derriso.
