For those who don't know me, I am married to Roger Guinn and we have two sons, Kyle, 20 and Alex, 17. We have lived in Macon County for over 10 years. I am currently attempting to bring a LINK group to Macon County to help special education children in our school system.
I decided to run for county commissioner after my husband, Roger, lost his job at American Greetings. Macon County is losing jobs and industry. This will lead to our children not having jobs in Macon County. It also means money which would have been spent in Macon County will go to the county in which our workforce is forced to go.
One of the reasons I decided to run for commissioner is because I feel my business experience will help me make good decisions on behalf of the residents in my district.
I pledge honest and ethical government. I do not work for any government department and I am not involved in any governmental agency. I will serve all the people of District 4. I will seek to bring more industry to Macon County and I will work with the other commissioners to make Macon County a better place to live.
I thank all the people that came out and voted in the Republican Primary, your vote of confidence in me was appreciated. I will attempt to talk to everyone in my district and give you the opportunity to tell me how you feel your government is working and I am looking forward to your advise and your direction on how you feel we can make it better together.
In closing, I am asking the voters of District 4 to allow me to serve as their voice on the Macon County Commission.
