Mr. Melvin Franklin Tomlinson, age 81, of Hartsville, TN, died Tuesday evening, September 26, 2007 at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Sue Tomlinson; son, Roger Lee Tomlinson; and brother James Robert Tomlinson.

He is survived by wife, Mrs. Fannie Belle Tomlinson of Hartsville, TN; sons, Mr. Bobby Rhea (Joyce) Tomlinson of Portland, TN, Mr. Gary (Barbara) Tomlinson of Hartsville, Tennessee, and Mr. Clifford F. Tomlinson of Lafayette, TN; daughters, Mrs. Sandra (Jimmy) White, Mrs. Brenda (Mike) Fields, and Mrs. Donna (David) Jones, all of Lafayette, TN, and Mrs. Vickie (Joey) Johns of Hartsville, TN; 26 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Nellie Stafford of Nashville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Anthony Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2006 and were conducted by Eld. Guthrie Thompson.

Pallbearers were Jackie Dale Brown, Tim Roberson, Michael and Barry Tomlinson, Scotty Cox, Bryan Holder, Ray Russell and Josh Brown.

Interment was in the Hartsville Memorial Gardens.
