Lady Bulldogs continue their winning streak defeating Clay County 87-59 and Pickett County 73-59

The Lady Bulldogs, now 8-0, grabbed the lead early in the first quarter and maintained that lead to score a win over Clay County at home Tuesday, November 28.

Freshman, Laken Leonard scored the most points of the game with 25. Ashton Gentry and Tess Copas helped the team put points on the board with Gentry scoring 14 and Copas scoring 12. Senior Rachel Painter played great offense putting 20 points on the board and sinking four 3-pointers.

At halftime, Clay County trailed RBS by 32 points but came back in the 3rd quarter scoring 18 points. It was just not enough to catch up to the undefeated Lady Bulldogs with a final score of 87-59.

On Friday, December 1, the Lady Dogs traveled to Pickett County and brought home a win to RBS once again. They scored 22 points in the first quarter giving them a great lead over Pickett County. The Lady Dogs continued their great offense putting another 26 points on the board in the 4th quarter. They finished with a score of 73-59. Laken Leonard rebounded the ball 13 times and scored the most points putting 27 on the board while Kelly Rich came in right behind her with 25 points.



RBS Bulldogs fall short against Clay and Pickett County

The RBS High School Bulldogs ended the first quarter with an eight point lead but could not maintain that lead and were defeated by Clay County last Tuesday night. In the 3rd quarter Clay County scored 22 points to the Bulldogs' 13 points and 19 points in the 4th quarter to the Bulldogs' 14 points with Clay County defeating RBS 59-55. The Bulldogs played good offense with Senior Dustin Dozier leading in scoring at the end of the night. He had the highest number of points scored for both teams.

On Friday, December 1, the Bulldogs traveled to Pickett County and were defeated with a score of 72-47. Dustin Dozier scored the most points with 17.

The Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to play Westmoreland at home Friday, December 8.
