Weather permitting, TVA has informed Tri-County Electric that they will interrupt power to their Lafayette Primary Substation on two separate occasions over the weekend beginning Friday, June 22, 2007 to complete work on the new transformer at the substation.

Both outages will affect the majority of Macon County (excluding the western portion of the county) and the Hermitage Springs area in Clay County.

The first outage will begin at approx. 11:59 p.m. on Friday night, June 22nd and last until approx. 3:00 a.m. Saturday morning, June 23. This outage will allow TVA crews to switch the load from the existing transformer at the primary substation to the mobile unit still on site.

The second outage will begin at approx. 11:59 p.m. on Sunday night, June 24th and last until approx. 3:00 a.m. Monday morning, June 25. This outage will allow the load to be switched to the new transformer from the mobile unit. The transformer currently on site will be used for back-up after the new transformer goes online.

On behalf of TVA, Tri-County Electric apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this interruption of power.
