A Lafayette woman was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville on Thursday afternoon, September 13 following a two-vehicle accident on the Scottsville Road in front of the Piggly Wiggly shopping center.
Trina D. Kucera, 41, 1234 Spring Creek Road, Lafayette was driving a 1994 Pontiac van southbound on the Scottsville Road when a 2002 Chevy Impala driven by Othell B. Russell, 88, 103 Kimbal Drive, Lafayette apparently pulled out in front of the Pontiac, causing the Pontiac to strike the Impala in the driver's side. Russell was not injured and stated that he pulled out in front of the oncoming Pontiac but did not realize she was going faster than he thought.
Ms. Kucera was transported to Vanderbilt for treatment of a possible knee injury and for evaluation following the crash. Her small, black dog, also riding in the vehicle, was not injured in the incident.
No violations were listed on either driver. LPD officer Kevin Woodard investigated the accident, which was responded to by EMS, Rescue Squad and Lafayette Fire Department personnel, who cleaned up the roadway of debris and fluids following the accident.
