(2) Macon County received much rainfall in a short period of time on Thursday afternoon Jan. 10. Larry Holland, Transportation Supervisor of Macon County, reported he was "well pleased" with how the schools and bus drivers handled the severe weather at a time when buses were being released from schools. Drivers used their discretion, some holding off driving. Others had slight detours in their bus rides home. Everyone arrived home safely. A plan was in place and followed in the event students had to return to the school with principals, cooks, and teachers remaining in place at school if needed.
