In the first half of the game, Macon County's Ben Cook placed the ball inside the goal.
Macon County fans were cheering with high spirits until the referee called the play invalid. Cook had apparently made the kick from off-side. And by the end of the period, the game was tied at zero.

As the ball was kicked, Corso quickly leaped into the air to the right side of the net. The ball barely missed his foot and slammed into the net.
