Melvin Wayne "Puddin" Meador, 63, of Scottsville, Ky. died Monday, September 12, 2011 at Southern Manor Living Center in Lebanon, Tn. The Scottsville, Ky. native was a retired mail carrier for the Smyrna Post Office (TN) a U.S. Air Force veteran, a member of Mt. Union United Methodist Church and N.A.L.C. He was a son of the late Carline Meador and Ruth Neil Troutt Meador, who survives.

He is survived by two daughters: Toni Stevens and husband, Casey, Lafayette, Tn. and Jenny Keith and husband, Brian, Lebanon, Tn.; his mother: Ruth Meador, Scottsville, Ky.; one brother: Jackie Meador and wife, Kelley, Scottsville, Ky.; two sisters: Mary Heath and husband, Mark, Scottsville, Ky.; four grandchildren: Ethan Keith, Gabriel Keith, Lacy Patterson and Shannon Cardwell; one great grandson: Lane Cardwell.

Funeral services for Melvin Wayne "Puddin" Meador was at 4 p.m., Wed., Sept. 14 at Mt. Union United Methodist Church with Bro. Chuck Pruitt officiating and burial in Mt. Union Cemetery. Visitation hours were from 2-9 p.m. on Tuesday, 7-9 a.m. on Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home. The body was taken to lie in state at the Mt. Union United Methodist, 6499 Mt. Union Road, Scottsville, Ky after 10 a.m. Wednesday until funeral time.
