The Bulldogs racked up 17 points in the first quarter, forcing their opponent to play from behind for the remainder of the contest. Red Boiling Springs added 18 in the second and commanded a 35-17 lead at halftime.
The Bulldogs added 12 points in the third, and entered the final quarter of play ahead 47-34. RBS concluded the game with a solid performance in the fourth quarter with 25 points on offense, earning them the 72-61 victory. Erin Francis led the team on offense with 21 points. Matt French scored 19, Davy Williams scored 12, Cody Dickens added seven, Zack Roberts and Ty Tuck racked up five points each and Matt Brockett added three points for RBS.
The Bulldogs returned to action on Fri., Feb. 10 when they traveled the Smith County to face the Tigers of Gordonsville. The Bulldogs fell behind early after being outscored 17-7 in the first. RBS tallied nine points in the second, but trailed 32-16 at the half.
In the second half, the Bulldogs added 10 points in the third and finished the fourth quarter with 15 points on offense, but were unable to match the Tigers as they fell by a final score of 51-41. Davy Williams led the Bulldogs with 12 points on offense. Matt French scored 11, Erin Francis scored seven, Cody Dickens scored five while Nick Deckard and Matt Brockett added three points each.
With the loss, the Bulldogs fall to 6-22 on the year and 1-7 in district play.
