Mr. Davis was born in Celina, Tennessee on August 21, 1920 to his late parents Bedford and Lora (Stone) Davis.
He was a farmer and a member of the Ashlock Church of Christ. He was also a WWII Army veteran
He is survived by: three daughters: Sue Hampton - Celina, TN, Dorothy Webb - Celina, TN., and Tina McLaughin - Cookeville, TN; one son: Lonnie Wayne Davis - Celina, TN; two brothers: Andrew Davis - Celina, TN; James Davis - Celina, TN; 10 grandchildren: Eric Webb, Melissa Webb, Carol Sue Cherry, Lori Watson, Chris Hampton, Carla Davis, Cystral Gore, Kelly Collins, Jennifer McLaughin, and Alexis Page; 13 great grandchildren: Casey Scott, Kurt Cherry, Peyton Gore, Zackary Gore, Michael Plumlee, Jared Plumlee, Matthew Dale Watson, Emily Watson, Sydney Collins, Jake Collins, Jayce Collins, Reece Collins, Ajay Collins; and two great great grandchildren Aiden Scott and Ava Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Bedford and Lora (Stone) Davis; wife: Opal Ruby Davis; sons: Paul Edward “Dixie” Davis and Carl Thomas “Doolie” Davis; brothers and sisters: Olene Jones, Opal Boone, Arnold Davis, Betty Davis, Elise Davis, and Matthew Davis.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home in Celina, TN. Burial followed in the Donaldson Cemetery with Bro. Kenny Westmoreland officiating and military honors.
