Eula Mae Perdue Claiborne, of Cox’s Creek, KY, and formerly of Lafayette, TN, was born on Saturday, January 14, 1922, one of eight children born to the late Herbert and Nellie Hire Perdue. She departed this life on Tuesday afternoon, March 27, 2012 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, KY, at the age of 90 years, 2 months and 13 days. Funeral services for Eula Claiborne were conducted at the Anderson and Son Funeral Home in Lafayette, TN on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., with Elder Daniel Cook officiating. Interment followed in the Anderson and Son Memorial Park. Family and friends served as her pallbearers. On June 21, 1942, Eula was married to Roy Claiborne, spending 55 years together until his death on July 15, 1997. She had worked in local factories during her lifetime, including Texas Boot, the Silk Mill and Carter Automotive. Eula was a member of Brattontown Missionary Baptist Church. She had a special love for her nieces and nephews, often telling each one “I love you best…” In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Darell Perdue, Clessie Perdue and Dennis Perdue; and two sisters, Lillie Weems and Louise Gosnell. She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Aullene and Robert Guinn; a brother, James Perdue; and several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
