The Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs traveled to Smith County to take on the Gordonsville Tigers on Thursday the 19th. In the first inning, the tigers defense kept the bulldogs from getting on base.

Matt French was caught. Nicholas Deckard and Skyler Holden were struck out. Nicholas Deckard pitched for the bulldogs. The Tigers took a quick lead scoring eight runs in the first inning. The second inning the Tigers extended their lead to thirteen runs and kept the bulldogs from scoring once again. Alex Mullinex threw a runner out on second and Brince Crouch caught a high fly ball in centerfield. Deckard was able to strike out Tiger Jarrod Randolph.

The third inning, the Bulldogs were able to keep the Tigers from scoring. Skyler Holden was put on the pitching mound. Holden had a strike out, Corey Gentry caught another fly ball in right field, and Spencer Tuck threw one of the Tiger’s out on first. The Tigers returned the favor holding the bulldogs to no runs.

In the fourth inning, the Bulldogs finally got on the scoreboard with Nicholas Deckard crossing home plate. The Bulldogs once again kept the tigers from scoring with Holden striking another player out and Alex Mullinex making two great throws to first base getting the other two outs. The top of the fifth gave the bulldogs their last chance to catch up. The Tigers had no mercy and with three strikes out the game was over. Final score was Gordonsville 13, RBS Bulldogs 1.
