The Red Boiling Springs high school FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) chapter held the annual Miss RBS Jr. High and Miss RBS High School pageants on November 3rd, 2012. The fall pageant was cleverly titled “Leaves Me Breathless”.
These pageants serve as an annual fundraiser for the FCCLA Chapter of Red Boiling Springs. During the Jr. High portion of the pageant, the contestants graced the stage with a walk showing off their beautiful evening gowns for the judges. The contestants were narrowed down to the top seven and then narrowed down to the top 5. The high school portion of the pageant started with each contestant introducing themselves to the judges and crow then taking a walk in their casual wear. The pageant moved on to evening wear, as well as, each contestant answering a question they selected randomly from a basket.
An added touch to this year’s pageant was live entertainment provided by two Red Boiling Springs High school students, Wesley Davis and Ben Bravo, and Wesley’s father, Michael Davis. Red Boiling Springs High school student Kristen Stacey also performed a song with the band. The band played during intermissions while the scores were being tallied.
The Red Boiling Springs FCCLA Chapter would like to thank the following individuals/businesses for supporting this year’s pageant: Red Boiling Springs Florist, Ms. Cristina Yokley, Mrs. Lisa Yokley, Mrs. Lori Powell, Mrs. Brandi Hayes and her Transition class at RBS, the FCCLA members and all other student volunteers, the live band, and everyone who attended the pageant.
