The 2012 Veterans Breakfast, sponsored by Macon Bank and Trust, was this past Saturday and it attracted a large attendance. The Sally Wells building was filled nearly to capacity. The breakfast was provided courtesy of Macon Bank and Trust, and prepared and served by Linda’s Catering.

The keynote address was a tribute to “Old Glory” presented by accomplished speaker Mr. Van Richmond, Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) USAF, who is the President and Chief Excitement Officer of Vantastic Seminars, Inc. (http://www.vantasticseminars.com/mainmenu.html ). Mr. Richmond is also the Pastor of New Life Church in Nashville.

Every set of eyes and ears in the building was focused on Chief Richmond as he delivered a moving history and emotional tribute to our Red, White and Blue. There were many somber and yet smiling, proud faces as the historical tribute to our flag was delivered.

The breakfast ended with several knives, commemorating various American wars and conflicts, being given to the lucky ticket holders. The knives were donated by Eden’s Knife Shop.
