Mrs. Irene Sircy, age 92, of the Tanglewood Community died at 7 a.m. Monday morning November 5, 2012 at the Knollwood Manor in Lafayette.

Wednesday afternoon November 7th funeral services were conducted by Jerry Mercer and Mrs. Sircy’s pastor, Bro. Jimmy Gregory from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Following the 1 p.m. services burial was in the Sircy family lot at Dixon Springs Cemetery.

She was one of three children of the late Clarence Denton “C.D.” Andrews who died January 22, 1986 at the age of 95 and Amie B. Hackett Andrews who died July 15, 1991 at the age of 93 and was born Edith Irene Andrews in the Turkey Creek Community on March 17, 1920.

Mrs. Sircy was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Elijah “C. E.” Andrews who died at the age of 62 on April 28 1987.

In Tompkinsville, Kentucky on December 24, 1937 she was united in marriage to Monoville Community native Dewey Mitchell Sircy. He preceded her in death at the age of 68 on February 16, 1983.

Mrs. Sircy was saved at the age of 26 and baptized into the full fellowship of the Peyton Creek Baptist Church at Monoville on November 3, 1946.

Before her retirement she was an employee of the Carthage Shirt Corporation for over forty three years.

Surviving are her son, Bobby Sircy and wife Launa of Lafayette; grandson, Kyle Sircy and wife Rachel and their children Lane and Grace all of Lafayette; brother, Harry Andrews and wife Dorothy of Mt. Juliet.
