The Macon County Sheriff Department, with the aid of the Lafayette Police Department, conducted a drug round-up on Monday, November 19.
“The Macon County Sheriff Department has been investigating these narcotics sales since January or February of last year,” said Detective Donnie Crawford. The investigations involved the undercover purchase and sale of drugs, interacting with suspected dealers. “I presented all the cases back in October to the Grand Jury, and they were all indicted.”
On the 19th, eight officers from MCSD and two officers from the Lafayette Police Department teamed up and served the warrants on these individuals. They served 15 indictments on nine people, of a total of 19 indictments that had been handed down from the court.
The majority of the charges were for sale of various classes of drugs, although during one arrest, officers discovered meth manufacturing materials, and other charges were added.
Jeffrey Schuck had been charged with the sale of Sch. 1 drugs (heroin), and when officers came to 218 Donoho Ave in Lafayette to make the arrest, Crawford said that two one-pot meth labs were discovered on the property. “They weren’t currently active and had already been used,” said Crawford, “but they could be reused again. At that location we did find several of the ingredients to go along with the one-pot method.”
The couple’s three children lived on the premises, and according to officers, could have had access to these materials, so one count of aggravated child abuse was added to each of their charges. The Department of children’s services was notified, and the children, between the ages of 5 and 10, are currently in DCS custody.
Jeffrey Lee Schuck, 35, was charged in total with sale Sch. 1 drug (heroin), initiation of the process to manufacture methamphetamine, and aggravated child abuse. Court date is set for November 28.
Jennifer Schuck, 30, was charged with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and aggravated child abuse. Court date is set for November 28.
Willie Robert Barrett Jr., 44, was charged with two counts manufacture of narcotics. Court date is set for January 8.
David Henry Hall, 51, was charged with one count sale of Sch. 6 drug (marijuana). Court date is set for January 8.
Anthony Paul Newberry, 48, was charged with one count sale of Sch. 4 drug (morphine). Court date is set for January 8.
Glynn Paul Newberry, 70, (Anthony Newberry’s father), was charged with two counts sale of Sch. 4 drug (morphine). Court date is January 8.
Tiffany Rose Nielsen, 30, of was charged with two counts sale Sch. 6 drug (marijuana). Nielson was already wanted in Trousdale county for a theft of property charge, so she was released to the Trousdale county court system.
James Carl Reid, 30, was charged with one count sale of Sch. 4 drug (methadone). Court date is January 8.
Dustin Kyle Richardson, 28, is charged with two counts sale of Sch. 6 drug (marijuana), and one count sale of Sch. 4 drug (hydrocodone).
“The Macon County Sheriff Department would like to thank the Lafayette Police Department for all their hard work and assistance,” said Det. Bryon Satterfield, “and a special thank you to the deputies and correctional officers.”
