Mobile Pantry distribution in Lafayette on Friday

WHAT: UnitedHealthcare, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Tennessee, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee are teaming up to fight hunger in Middle and West Tennessee through Second Harvest’s Mobile Pantry program. Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee staff and volunteers from UnitedHealthcare and the Bethel Family Worship Center will help sort and package and distribute food at a Mobile Pantry event in Macon County on Friday, November 30.

WHY: The activities are in support of UnitedHealthcare’s “Do Good. Live Well.” employee volunteer initiative to prevent hunger, diabetes and obesity. UnitedHealthcare is providing funding for 40 Mobile Pantry events through Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee targeting rural and urban communities in Middle and West Tennessee. The partnership will provide food assistance to more than 10,000 hungry children, families and seniors.
