Fred Tuck, of Lafayette, was born on Friday, October 17, 1941, one of five children born to the late Lester and Willie Mae Jones Tuck. He departed this life on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the age of 71 years.
Funeral services for Fred Tuck were conducted from the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 11th with Brother Jerry Gammon and Elder Tom Carter officiating. Interment followed in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Tuck, Joe Birdwell and Hobart Hauskins. Pallbearers were Chris Tuck, K.J. Kitchens, Jaron Coots, Stevie Joe Tuck, Joseph “Taylor” Tuck, Kevin Smith, Philip Smith and Daniel Hansen.
Fred drove a milk truck and was a farmer. He was saved at a young age and was of the Missionary Baptist belief. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Reinalda England; and a brother-in-law, Fred “Rip” Brooks.
Fred is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Wayne and Deborah Tuck of Lafayette, Jimmy Dewayne and Robin Tuck of Lebanon, Eric Alan and Brett Tuck of Eugene, OR; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Kay and James Shrum of Lafayete; brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe L. and Donnie Tuck, Randall and Marie Tuck, all of Lafayette; sisters and brother-in-law, Sylvia Brooks of Hendersonville, Betty and W.C. Smith of Lafayette; 7 grandchildren, Maria Elizabeth Coots, Kayla Nicole Kitchens, Kaleb Jackson “K.J.” Kitchens, Devin James Shrum, all of Lafayette, Christopher Allen Tuck of Red Boiling Springs, Madison Spencer Tuck of Eugene, OR, and Kailin Scott Tuck of Lebanon; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
