In the weeks leading up to Christmas, the Macon County High School cheer team organized a gift sponsorship for a local family in need, teaming up to provide Christmas wish-list fulfillment for each child in the family.
One of the teachers at the high school heard about this family and mentioned them to the cheerleaders. The girls asked that each member of this family send a little Christmas list, and then each cheerleader took charge of an item or two. The goods were gathered for delivery on the night of the December 21 MCHS basketball game vs. Trousdale County.
“They just wanted to give back to the community,” said cheer mother Yvonne Ellis.
