The owners of Lafayette Hometown Foods, Butch and Shelia Ferris, have just installed a new 12-door freezer in the grocery store. Open for 13 years, the family-owned business employs 20 and continues to stay competitive with the big chain stores in town. “It was just time to do an improvement,” said co-owner Shelia Ferris, “just to better serve our customers. It’s nicer, more energy efficient, more space, and cleaner.”

The freezer, purchased from and installed by Gilmore Refrigerators, cost approximately $9,000. “They worked all through the night so we could open on time Thursday,” said Ferris. “They did a great job.”

In addition to a good selection of meat, produce, frozen, canned, and dry goods, the store offers hot lunches at very affordable prices.
