Tigerettes dominate Senior Night, clinch best record in District

On Tuesday, the Tigerettes took on the White House Lady Devils at home for Senior Night. The Tigerettes easily took care of business and went on to dominate their final regular season home game, winning 73-38. The Tigerettes had no problem demolishing the Lady Devils.

The first quarter was actually pretty close. Macon County put up sixteen points in the first quarter. However, the Lady Devils came out strong and put up ten. The second quarter would prove to doom the Lady Devils. The Tigerettes came out and put up an unprecedented twenty-two points in the second alone. They also held the Lady Devils to six points. The score at halftime was 38-16.

The second half was all Macon County. The Tigerettes scored twenty-three points in the third quarter. White House only scored fourteen. The score after three quarters was 61-30. Both teams had a slow fourth quarter. Macon County still scored double-digits in the fourth quarter, twelve points, while holding White House to only eight. The final score was 73-38.

Kelsey Gregory led the Tigerettes in scoring with 20 points. Terra Pryor was right behind her with 17. Whitney Wilburn had 7. Kailyn Brooks, Reese Shrum, and Briley Driver each had five points. Leah Anderson had six. Jade Ellis had three, and Marisa Owens had two.

The Tigerettes next game was on Friday against Westmoreland. The Tigerettes dominated the first half and went on to win the game 52-26.

The first half was Macon County’s half. The Tigerettes scored seventeen points in the first quarter, all while holding the Lady Eagles to four points. The second quarter was a little closer. Macon County put up ten points, while Westmoreland scored seven. The score at halftime was 27-11.

The second half continued the dominance. Macon County scored twelve points in the third quarter while holding Westmoreland to only five points. The score after three quarters was 39-16. The fourth quarter was closer. Macon County outscored Westmoreland 13-10. The final score was 52-26.

Terra Pryor scored nearly half of the Tigerettes. She had 23. Kelsey Gregory had eleven points. Leah Anderson and Briley Driver had five points each. Whitney Wilburn had four, Reese Shrum had three, and Lyndsey Belton had one.

The Tigerettes final regular season game was Monday, February 11 at Station Camp.
