Macon County 4-H has a new set of livestock scales, 4-H Extension Agent III Keith Allen announced last week at the annual Macon County 4-H Banquet.

The scales were donated to the Macon County 4-H youth program thanks to the support given by several sponsors.

During the tornado of 2008 the set of scales that were used for years by youth in Macon County were destroyed.

Sherri Sandifer thought it was time for the scales to be replaced.

Since the County had to borrow from surrounding counties before a youth event could be help. Macon County 4-H has extended a special thanks to Sandifer for taking the lead and contacting sponsors about assisting with the scales.
