Edsel, one of two sons, was born in February of 1930, to Charles Fredrick Dallas and Delona Driver Dallas also of the Galen community. His brother, Aubrey Dallas of Macon County, preceded him in death.
He is lovingly survived by two sons and daughters in law, Barry Edison Dallas and wife Jamie; Charles Thomas Dallas and wife Leigh, their mother, Mary Ruth Cook Dallas, and many other family members and friends.
Edsel worked for many years in and around Macon County at such bygone places as the Ford dealership, the Chevrolet garage, the International Harvester farm equipment company and for a time he ran his own Pest Control service business. He also drove county school buses and worked in the oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico running supply boats out to the oil platforms.
He had a lifelong passion for cars, motorcycles, airplanes, boats and tractors.
In his last years in Galen, he spent his time selling cars as Barnyard Auto Sales, refurbishing Ford tractors, buying/selling and trading on lawn mowers, boats, cars, motorcycles and just about anything else when someone had something he wanted.
He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Edsel loved life, his friends, family and all of Macon County.
