RBS advances to a region semifinal game Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Livingston Academy. RBS will play against Clay County, an 88-64 quarterfinal winner against Watertown.
Against Jackson County, the game remained very tight throughout the first quarter, neither team was able to pull away with a big lead. It was a last second buzzer beater that lifted the Bulldogs to a 19-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Jackson County Blue Devils responded and posted up fifteen points to Red Boiling's eleven points. As the teams headed to the locker rooms, it was the Blue Devils who lead by a thin margin. The score was 31-30.
After half-time, the Bulldogs came out on fire, scoring the first nine points of the second half. Red Boiling re-claimed the lead by three points at the end of the third by a score of 41-38.
In the fourth quarter, RBS started to increase their lead and never looked back. The fourth quarter was all about the Bulldogs as they went on to win by a final score of 59-47.
MACON COUNTY:
The high school boys' basketball season ended Saturday night for Macon County.
Hume Fogg defeated Macon County 71-66 in a quarterfinal game of the Region 5-AA tournament.
