An offense report against Councilman and Vice-Mayor John Cook has been filed with the Red Boiling Springs Police Department.

In a report dated Tuesday, March 2, Vernon L. Strong claims Cook recently intimidated him in regards to the current charges brought against Mayor Kenneth Hollis.

Cook responded by filing an offense report with the RBS Police Department claiming he's being falsely accused by Strong.

Both reports were taken by Patrolman Jacob Jordan.

What follows are the two reports, presented in the order in which they were filed:

Strong’s report:

“On March 2, 2010, Vernon L. Strong came into the RBS Police Station and stated he wanted to file a complaint on John Cook over an incident that happened one morning prior inside the city of Red Boiling Springs, TN.

“Vernon states that while he was at Bray’s Family Restaurant on Lafayette Road in Red Boiling Springs, John Cook came inside the restaurant and seen Vernon sitting with Joe Hackett and Jesse T. Gregory. At this time John began threatening Vernon over the [L.S.] vs. Kenneth Hollis Case, and was wanting to fight Vernon. Vernon states that after John Cook spoke several harsh words towards him, John then jerked off his coat and told Vernon to come outside and settle it. Vernon states that he replied to John that he was not going to fight him, and Vernon states that after a few minutes of this going on and on, that he just got up from the table and left the restaurant to avoid any physical assault by John Cook.”

Cook’s report:

“On March 2, 2010 John Cook came into the Red Boiling Springs Police Department and requested a report on Vernon Strong. John Cook stated that after finding that Vernon Strong had came into the Red Boiling Springs Police Department earlier this same day and requested a report on John Cook, stating that John had intimidated him at Bray’s Family Restaurant on March 1, 2010, and Vernon felt threatened by John Cook. John Cook states that these are false accusations and wants a report to have on record that this incident at Bray’s Family Restaurant did not happen and that Vernon Strong is lying about the series of events that took place at the restaurant. John states that while in the restaurant he did take off his jacket but in a sarcastic manner and that he did not ask Vernon to step outside but states that he did so to remind Vernon of how some rumors were getting started.

“John did state to me that he did not want an investigation or any charges brought against Vernon, and that he is just requesting this report to have on record.”
