Macon County Arts Council’s summer series "Concerts in the Park" begins this month. The first concert is scheduled for Sunday, June 6 at 2 p.m., at Key Park.

This concert features musicians from our own Macon County. The program includes the Cumberland Valley Quartet, Portland City Limits Bluegrass Band, the duet Randy East and Kim Marsh, and contemporary gospel artist George Ridenour.

The Cumberland Valley Quartet will open the program with gospel music. Members of the quartet include Alan Pedigo, Betty Sue Meador, Lester England, and Dariel Meador, with Donna Melton on piano. They will be followed by Portland City Limits Bluegrass Band featuring Lafayette’s own Wardean Perdue. After these, Randy and Kim will sing some favorite songs, and finally George will complete the program with his own unique gospel music.

MCAC hopes that you will come out and enjoy this fine talent. If there is rain that afternoon, the concert will be held at Macon County High School auditorium.
