Heitt, Nash receive $1,000 scholarships

The Middle Tennessee Area Sonic Drive-Ins on May 26 awarded 45 $1,000 scholarships to employees of their drive-ins. Among the recipients were two employees of Sonic Drive-In in Lafayette.

Erica Heitt and Kery Nash were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Heitt will be a junior nursing major at Cumberland University, and Nash will be a sophomore engineering major at Volunteer State Community College.

In order to qualify for receiving these scholarships, the employees must have worked in the drive-in for at least one year’ acquire written recommendations from their store managers, teachers, and other community leaders and have completed high school and be accepted in good standing with a college or university.

A Big thanks to Sonic for supporting two local students who worked hard at school and obviously at Sonic. We can be sure that they are the right kind of people who will excell in their studies and make Macon County proud. Thank you Times for an article that matters.
