One of the year’s biggest fundraisers for the Macon County High School Track and Cross Country team is planned for Saturday, December 1. Sprinters Group is hosting the Town Square Jingle Bell 5K and 2 mile Walk on the morning of the Christmas Parade on the square, and co-organizer Rick Miller says they plan to have it over and cleaned up by 11 AM or so, to make way for the floats.

The race start time is 9:00 AM that morning, with registration starting at 8:00. Pre-registration fee is $25.00, and runners can sign up online at www.sprintersgroup.org. The race fee on the day of is $30.00, and pricing for any student is $15.00. Registration includes race T-shirt. Make checks out to Sprinters Group.

Awards will be given to top three finishers in each age group, and there will also be awards given for best Christmas themed attire.

Come on out and get behind our local cross country team (you will be behind them, probably). The girls team won a regional championship this year and then went on to place 2nd in the State championship.
