The Macon County Tigerettes came back from their holiday break against a very game against the Goodpasture team. The Tigerettes would defeat the Lady Cougars in a landslide victory of 57-31. Everything the Tigerettes did seemed to work in this faceoff.

The first half was actually pretty close, as the Tigerettes seemed to have a little ice on them from not playing in two weeks. What the Tigerettes didn’t have on offense, they made up for on defense in the first half. This half showed some of their season’s best defense. The score at halftime was Macon County Tigerettes 21, Goodpasture Lady Cougars 11.

The Tigerettes’ offense came on in a huge way the second half. The Tigerettes scored twenty-one points in the third quarter, their whole total of the first half. The Tigerettes’ defense would hold the Lady Cougars to only nine points in the third quarter. The Tigerettes led 42-20 after three quarters. The fourth quarter was just as bad for the Lady Cougars. They picked the wrong night to come into Macon County! The Tigerettes would defeat the Lady Cougars by a score of 57-31.

Terra Pryor led the team in scoring with 15 points. Kailyn Brooks was right behind her with 13. Kelsey Gregory had 7 points. Leah Anderson came off the bench with 8 points. Other bench players with big games were Lyndsey Belton with 5 points, Reese Shrum with 4, and Marisa Owens with 2.

The Tigerettes’ next game will be against district rival Greenbrier at Greenbrier on Tuesday, January 8.
