Scoring Summary in Girls action vs. Smith County on January 24:

First quarter- RBS Lady Bulldogs 4 Smith Co. Lady Owls 19

Opening this game, the Lady Bulldogs knew they had their work cut out for them. The Lady Bulldogs were down three starters. Ashlyn Murphy, who re-injured her knee several games again, has not been able to return to the court. Starters Mayson Burgener and Kalisha Lynch were also absent from the game due to illness. Ending the first quarter, the Lady Bulldogs chances of a victory seemed bleak. By the half, they were down by 28 points. They Lady Bulldogs held their own during the Lady Bulldogs held their own and was only outscored by 5 in the third and 3 in the fourth quarters. Sadly, the first half of play came back to haunt the Lady Bulldogs as they were defeated by half of their final score. The RBS Lady Bulldogs attempted 29 two point shots during the game against the Lady Owls. They were able to convert 13 of those to points for 44.8% accuracy. From the three point line, the Lady Bulldogs shot a total of 5 times, making 2, for 40%. Their opponents sent the Lady Bulldogs to the free throw line 9 times. The boys’ game was much like the girls game. The Smith Co. Owls took an early lead and never let up. The Owls never looked back (scoring 30 points to the Bulldogs 10 in the second quarter). Being able to go to the locker room with a comfortable 34 point lead, the Owls offense slowed considerably the second half with them scoring 19 points to the Bulldogs 12. All 27 of the Bulldogs points were made possible by three point baskets and free throws (with 12 of the points coming from free throw shots). Ironically, as a team, the Bulldogs attempted 17 two point shots and 17 three point shots. They were able to make 5 of the three point shots for 29.4%. The Owls sent the Bulldogs to the foul line a whopping 28 times, with the Bulldogs, successfully hitting 12 of those for 42.9%. Individual stats for the Bulldogs:
