The Tigers’ final game of the regular season was against Station Camp. Macon County came out focused and ended up winning the game 72-58.

The first half showed the Tigers and Bison battling like gladiators. Whatever one team did, the other team mirrored it. If the Tigers knocked down a three, Station Camp would knock one down from beyond the arc. Back and forth both teams went, neither giving an edge. Both teams scored fourteen points in the first quarter and eighteen in the second. The score was tied 32-32 after the first half.

The third quarter showed the Tigers erupting for twenty-three points, all while holding Station Camp to only ten points. Tyler Clark knocked down two of the Tigers’ four three-pointers in this quarter. Clark finished with fourteen points and had three of the four three-pointers for the Tigers. The score after three quarters was 55-42. The fourth quarter was another strong quarter for both teams. Macon scored seventeen, and Station Camp scored fourteen. The final score was 72-56.

Trey McPherson went off in this game, scoring an insane 30 points. Dalton Shrum had thirteen points, Peyton Clark had five, and Aaron Carter had four. Austin Mcclard, Evan Perrigo, and Dillion McCormick each scored two.

District Tourney vs. Sycamore

The Tigers next game was in the District Tournament against Sycamore. The War Eagles came out at Vol State and stunned the entire building by upsetting the Tigers 56-51. A rough second half doomed the Tigers.

The first half actually showed the Tigers winning the game. The Tigers scored fourteen points in the first quarter. Sycamore scored fourteen, though. The second quarter showed Macon County scoring fourteen points as Sycamore scored ten. Both teams played a great first half inside the paint and beyond the arc. The score at halftime was Macon County 31, Syacmore 24.

The Tigers’ second half of play wasn’t as strong as their first half. The Tigers only scored nine points in the third quarter. Sycamore would go on to score fifteen in the third, and the score was 40-39 Macon County leading. The fourth quarter would prove to be the end for the Tigers. Sycamore came out and eagerly scored seventeen points. The final score was 56-51.

Dalton Shrum led the Tigers in scoring with 16 points. Trey McPherson wasn’t far behind him with 14. Tyler Clark, Mayson Shrum, and Peyton Clark each had two three-pointers, and each one finished with six points. Aaron Carter had one point.

The Tigers next game was a consolation game on Tuesday, February 19 at 6:30 against district punching bag White House. Coverage next week.
