Mildred McCarter Denton, age 87, of Red Boiling Springs, and formerly of the Leonard Community in Clay County, TN, passed away Tuesday evening, November 20, 2012 at the Monroe county Medical Center in Tompkinsville, Ky. Graveside services and interment for Mildred McCarter Denton were conducted Friday afternoon, November 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the Leonard Cemetery in Clay County with Jimmy Cook officiating. Her family and friends served as pallbearers.

Mildred was born Wednesday, March 18, 1925 in Clay County, TN, the daughter of the late Harrison and Ethel Coons McCarter. She was married to Oakley Denton, who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Alta May McCarter, Delno York, Pearl Knight, Eunice Cole and Lucille Fisher, brothers, Oren, Carson, Willard and Emmitt McCarter. She was a inspector for Genesco in Nashville, TN for many years.

Survivors include: Sister-In-Law, Edna McCarter, Lafayette, TN.
