A Lafayette man was arrested after allegedly fleeing officers by vehicle into Kentucky.

Tyler Allen Pedigo, 23, faces multiple charges following the incident, which took place on May 28.

According to the arrest report, Lafayette Police Department patrolman Jason Sells witnessed a Nissan traveling along Ellington Drive with a license plate not on file, and Sells initiated a traffic stop.

The report states that the vehicle initially stopped but then accelerated after Sells began to stop his own vehicle. Sells also observed two passengers in the vehicle.

Pedigo allegedly turned to the left and came within a foot of striking Lt. Clint Hestand's patrol vehicle, causing him to drive into the grass.

According to the report, Pedigo improperly passed another vehicle, exceeded speeds of 90 miles per hour, drove through a stop sign and drove in the wrong traffic lane before fleeing into Kentucky.

The Scottsville Police Department arrested Pedigo after he crossed the state line, and he reportedly told them he was the driver of the vehicle.

Pedigo was charged with failure driver to exercise due care, speeding, failure to stop for a signal or siren, reckless driving, violation of probation, violation of travel lanes, improper passing, evading arrest, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.

His bond was set at $44,000, and his court date was slated for July 17.
