A Lafayette man was arrested after allegedly threatening to kill Circuit Court Clerk Rick Gann at his office.

Andy Wayne Emberton, 34, faces multiple charges following the incident, which took place on May 6.

According to the arrest report, Macon County Sheriff's Office Deputy Jacob McClard responded to a phone call about an incident at the clerk's office and found Emberton yelling in the lobby.

Emberton allegedly attempted to exit the building and refused instructions to stop and put his hands behind his back.

McClard then grabbed Emberton by the arms to keep him inside and pulled him from the door before placing him in custody.

Emberton allegedly punched the window, demanded to see Gann and stated intent to kill him.

The clerks also stated they were afraid Emberton would break the glass to get inside the office.

Emberton was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and aggravated assault.

His bond was set at $7,500, and his court date was slated for June 5.
