Macon County High junior Morgan Carter hit 19 home runs this spring.

Macon County High sophomore Morgan Carter repeated as a Tennessee Softball Coaches Association (TSCA) Miss Softball honoree in Class AA among the Middle Tennessee region.

Carter is one of the nine winners of the TSCA Miss Softball award, with three players being honored in the East Tennessee, Middle Tennessee and West Tennessee regions (one winner for Class A/Division II, Class AA and in Class AAA).

Carter belted 19 home runs and drove in 61 runs this spring. She produced 11 doubles, drew 18 base on balls and scored 37 runs.

The junior catcher posted a .630 batting average and a .672 on-base percentage.

Over the last two seasons, Carter -- the two-time District 8-AA Most Valuable Player -- has compiled 30 home runs and driven in 105 runs. She has only struck out one time over those two seasons.

Sophomore teammates Madilyn Goodall and Abby Shoulders were named to the TSCA All-State Team in Middle Tennessee.

Goodall -- a third baseman who was an all-district selection -- ended her season with a .387 batting average and also compiled 11 doubles, one home run and 30 runs batted in (RBI).

Abby Shoulders -- the team's shortstop and leadoff hitter -- had a .485 batting average with 45 runs scored, 11 doubles, six triples, one home run, 26 RBI and 22 stolen bases. She was the district's co-defensive player of the year.

Senior teammate Allyson Shoulders was selected to play in the TSCA All-Star Game but opted not to compete due to a scheduling conflict.

The pitcher had a 15-4 record and one save, producing a 4.23 earned-run average (ERA). She was the district's pitcher of the year for the second consecutive season.

At the plate, Allyson Shoulders -- a Cumberland University signee -- had a .440 batting average with 29 runs scored, eight doubles, three triples, five home runs and 39 RBI.

Macon County ended the season with a 26-11 record, winning its first regular-season district title since 2008. The Tigerettes finished third in the 8-AA Tournament.
