Macon County Junior High golfer Maddox Crowder placed fourth in the Tennessee Middle School Golf Association Middle Region Tournament.

NASHVILLE - Macon County Junior High sixth-grader Maddox Crowder placed fourth at the Tennessee Middle School Golf Association Middle Region Tournament, which was held from May 13-14 at Two Rivers Golf Course.

Crowder posted a two-round total of 149.

He shot an opening round of 77, which included two birdies and seven bogeys.

Crowder bogeyed five of his last 10 holes.

He bounced back with a second round of 72.

Crowder birdied three of his first four holes.

He finished with five birdies and five bogeys.

Crowder and Greenbrier Middle School's Tyler Williamson led the competitors with a total of seven birdies over the first two days.

Crowder finished seven strokes back of the champion, Blackman Middle School's Lofton McRee (73-69).

McRee was three strokes better than Grassland Middle School's Eli Cleveland (75-70) and six ahead of Brentwood Middle's Troup Wallace (74-74).

Brentwood Middle won the team title, finishing two strokes better than Grassland. Grassland was 52 strokes better than third-place Greenbrier.
