Red Boiling Springs High sophomore guard Liz Anderson scored 15 points in the Lady Bulldogs' 63-42 victory at Jackson County.

GAINESBORO -- The Red Boiling Springs High girls basketball team gradually pulled away for a 63-42 victory at Jackson County on Jan. 22.

The Lady Bulldogs rolled to a 70-46 victory when the two teams played in Red Boiling Springs on Dec. 11.

In the rematch, the Lady Blue Devils remained close for a half, trailing 11-9 after one period of play and 25-19 at halftime.

RBS extended the lead to 13 points (44-31) entering the fourth quarter.

The Lady Bulldogs made eight of their 10 3-pointers in the second half.

Junior guard Haley Davis accounted for four of those 3-pointers as she scored a game-high 17 points.

Sophomore teammate Liz Anderson provided 15 points, and junior Kennedy Fleming produced 11 points. Junior Briley Morgan and eighth-grader Claire Fleming scored 9 points each, and sophomore Lindsay Randolph contributed 2 points.

Ericka Davidson and Hailey Russell led Jackson County offensively with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Then, RBS dominated play in Monday evening's 65-34 victory over visiting Gordonsville.

The Lady Bulldogs captured a 48-37 win at Gordonsville on Jan. 8.

On Monday, RBS (19-8 overall, 7-4 in District 6-A) used a 25-7 run in the first half to build a comfortable lead and was never threatened.

Eighth-grade guard Claire Fleming came off the bench to provide 7 of her 10 points during the surge.

Davis scored 11 of her team-high 13 points before halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs held a 28-15 lead at the intermission.

Then, RBS outscored the Tigerettes by a 19-5 margin in the third quarter to open up a 27-point lead.

Anderson made two 3-pointers in the period. The Lady Bulldogs sank 11 3-pointers in the contest.

Like Davis, Anderson scored 13 points. Kennedy Fleming joined Anderson, Davis and Claire Fleming in double figures with 12 points.

The rest of the RBS scoring is as follows: Randolph 6 points, Morgan 5, Iesha Smith 3, Brianna Thompson 2 and Rhiannon Hix 1.

Gordonsville's Katie Grandstaff scored all of her team-high 9 points in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Bulldogs host Trousdale County on Friday evening.
