MT. JULIET -- The Macon County Junior High boys soccer team placed third in its district tournament thanks to a 2-1 victory at West Wilson Middle School in a contest determined in a penalty-kick shootout on May 7.

The Tigers won the shootout by a 4-3 margin.

Both Macon County and West Wilson lost in the tournament's semifinal round, leaving them facing off in the consolation match.

The Tigers suffered a 3-0 loss at Mt. Juliet on May 3.

Macon County opened postseason play on April 30, capturing a 2-1 win at Portland in another match determined by a penalty-kick shootout.

The Tigers won that shootout by a 3-2 margin.
